Jasper Wallace
After breaking the news to his family that he wouldn’t be apprenticing to become a woodworker under his father, Jasper Wallace led mostly a solitary life. He studied mechanics and engineering at University (the first of his family to even attend), and then swiftly obtained employment at Rossmore Enterprises. His life held little time for anything outside of work – all he really cared about was discovering how to make the company’s aeronautical machinations stronger, faster, more economical.
It was after a long day of tinkering (and a rather satisfactory discovery of how to make the copper pendulum function at a higher capacity), when he stumbled upon a young, frightened boy hiding in the airship he was currently working on. In fact, Jasper was so startled by the boy’s sudden appearance that he almost missed the incomparable Lady Penny rushing towards him. (Jasper was quite fond of her indeed.)
She hurried to the boy and whispered something in his ear, causing him to pale. She then promptly whisked him away and out the hangar door, straight into a rather sinister looking man. Still watching Lady Penny and the boy, and particularly the way they shrank from Sir Cyrus, a sense of unease came over Jasper. He took Lady Penny by the hand (a rather bold move), gave a withering stare to the other man, and pulled them in the other direction.
Once safe, Jasper demanded to know what was happening. And, finally, Thaddeus relented. The story he wove was a tale indeed…
